25 September 2013 Re: BRTs seized in Montreal Thanks to all of the members of the club and others willing to help in the situation. In spite of the time and effort put in by a number of people, it is clear that the BRTCC has no legal standing in this matter. Since the club has no standing, a group of concerned volunteers is exploring other options for helping the dogs. Dave Cybak (email - dave@csae.com) is coordinating that effort. We realize that this is a distressing situation for many of you. The legal process will run its course and we have no role in that. Our efforts are directed at doing what we can to speak for the welfare of the dogs while the legal process is pending and to offer assistance or advice if the dogs need to be re-homed. We are sure that all of you share our primary concern- the health and comfort of the dogs.

June 9, 2013 The Black Russian Terrier Club of Canada team, consisting of BRTCC members - Reg.Director (ON) Nelia Elperin and member of the Educational committee Maryna Tkach, with BRTs Darena, Yarik and Abbi participated in the "Woofstock" dog festival in Downtown Toronto. They did amazing job in representing the breed and we thank them all.
March 24, 2013 The Black Russian Terrier Club of Canada had held the CKC Conformation Judging Seminar in Claremont, ON. The seminar was a great success! There were 23 Conformation Judges attending, and the Club's presentation was rated 4.5 out of 5! Great thanks to the Club members who prepared and participated in the presentation - Gail McLarnon, Lorraine Kenny, Aldona Oleinikas, Maryna Tkach, Nelia Elperin, Marina Yevko, Susan and Giles Hutcheson, Anna Pilon, Maria Mastroianni, Suzanne Nedergaard, Dave Cybak and Vladimir Yevko.

10-12 March 2012, 2012 Purina National - a CKC Charity Event For more pictures, see the photo album page The Black Russian Terrier of Canada has had a Breed Promotion Booth in the Breeder's Village at the 2012 Purina National held in the International Centre, Mississauga, Ontario, March 10-12, 2012. There were lots of people passing through our booth, checking out the poster with information about our breed, asking lots of questions and admiring our dogs. The show was a wonderful breed promotion event! 3 December 2011 The BRTCC Sanction Match, Brantford and District Civic Centre, Brantford, ON Our Club has held the CKC Sanction Match! We had 12 dogs entered. There were 6 Black Russian Terriers entered in our Match. The Best in Match and Best Puppy in Match (judge Robin Hughes) awards went to a beautiful Doberman "Kaia", owned by Monica Peterson. We thank Monica for entering her dog in our Match!
Our BRTs shown extremely well! Best of Breed and Best in Group 2 went to a Black Russian Terrier "IliasLegacy Balthazar Benjamin ", owned by our fellow BRTCC member Leanna Griffith!. We thank Leanna for entering her handsome dog in our Match and wish Benjamin lots of success in the future shows! Best Puppy in Breed went to Black Russian Terrier "Nibelung", owned/handled by our fellow BRTCC member Maryna Tkach! We thank Maryna for entering her handsome dog in our Match and wish Nibelung lots of success in the future shows! Best Graduate in Breed, Group, and Match went to Black Russian Terrier "Darena Doch Slavnitza iz Teremka"owned/handled by our fellow BRTCC member Nelia Elperin!We thank Nelia for entering her beautiful girl in our Match and wish Darena lots of success in the future shows! Around the World in 80 Paws, Toronto, ON "Around the World in 80 Paws" was hosted by PawsWay Toronto at Queens Quay over the weekend. This successful event showcased a variety of dog breeds for the public based on their country of origin. The Black Russian Terrier Club of Canada was invited to represent Russian dogs with the BRT. On the first day of this event, we were awarded a gift basket for being selected as the best decorated booth. For those unfamiliar with PawsWay Toronto, this facility is funded by Purina and is dedicated to the understanding and celebration of pets. There were lots of people passing through our booth, checking out the poster with information about our breed, asking lots of questions and admiring our dogs. The show was wonderful breed promotion event! Even more wonderful was the fact that our Club was awarded the First Place of all the Breed Information Booths at the show! And the First Place was awarded by the popular vote of the visitors to the CKC Purina Charity Event! Our Club had received the $300 First Prize from the Canadian Kennel Club.

On Saturday and Sunday Dave Cybak, our Club's President, had done excellent job by giving a Black Russian Terrier Breed Presentation to the visitors of the Purina National. He was helped by 4-legged BRTCC members, along with their owners. Also on Saturday, the BRTCC held the Grooming Workshop at Audrone's house in Etobicoke. Tanya Adams was a great instructor! Renata Szuflicka did a great job by organizing, producing and selling the 2011 BRTCC Calendars. We hope she will continue to make calendars for the future years. The Best Puppy in Match ( judge Alex Azores) award, went to a Black Russian Terrier "Boris", owned/handled by our fellow BRTCC member Judy Witkowski!. We thank Judi for entering her handsome puppy in our Match and wish Boris lots of success in the future shows! We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to all owners and handlers participating in our Match. We would like to sincerely thank the Hamilton Kennel Club and its President, Dave Hull for letting us use the Club's Show grounds and for providing us lots of support. 4 April 2009 The BRTCC Sanction Match,Aud Simcoe Fairgrounds, Simcoe, ON Our Club has held its first CKC Sanction Match! It has been a great success! We had 31 dogs representing 17 of the Canadian Kennel Club Registered and Listed breeds. There were 5 Black Russian Terriers entered in our Match The Best in Match and the Best Puppy in Match awards went to a beautiful Samoyed "Vanderbilt's All of Me"(Allie), owned by Judi Elford. We thank Judi for entering her gourgeous dog in our Match and wish Allie lots of success in the future shows! We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to all owners and handlers participating in our Match. We would like to sincerely thank the Norfolk Kennel and Obedience Club and its President, Ann Meade for letting us use the Club's Show grounds and for providing us lots of support and advice. We would like to thank our judges, Steve Popp and Edgar Rojas for their wonderful work in the ring and for making this event enjoyable and fun for everybody. 14-15 Mar 2009 The Black Russian Terrier of Canada has had a Breed Promotion Booth at the RBCSWO Conformation Show held at the Toronto Sportsmen Show at the Exhibition Place, Toronto, Ontario. There were lots of people passing through our booth, checking out the poster with information about our breed, asking lots of questions and admiring our dogs. It was a wonderful breed promotion event!
21 February, 2008 The Black Russian Terrier Club of Canada has been accredited by a Canadian Kennel Club. Great thanks to Club's Accreditation Committee: Audrone Kairys, Sybil Worthington, and Marina Yevko. They were working very hard to organize and prepare everything, follow-up with the CKC and make sure that all paperwork was in order.
