November 29, 2009. The NADAC Agility trial hosted by It's a Dog's World Club in Calgary, AB .
Though we have attended this two-day trial only one day, on Sunday, the load of Q-ribbons we brought home was quite impressive. Our competitor extraordinaire Ulla (Kalinka's Lora de Verdun) has qualified all four runs she made including two Elite Regular (now 120 points), Elite Jumpers , and Elite Chances (now 50 points). Elite Chances was a difficult run that day.The task was to take 8 obstacles in a reversibly redirected motion at a very significant distance between the dog and it's handler and then several more obstacles after the dog crossed the restricting line returning to the handler. Only seven dogs in a whole Elite class, and among them only one other dog in Ulla's division managed to perform it correctly and within the allotted 40 seconds.
Tanto la Cantara , the Aussie,  has qualified and came first in Open Regular , and has qualified and came second both in Elite Jumpers and Novice Tunnelers . It was her third qualifying leg in Novice Tunnelers that earned her the title and the right to compete in Open Tunnelers the next trial.
Romi, the Border Terrier, has qualified and came second in Elite Tunnelers.
Our young Black Russian Terrier Zora (Zlata Zorjana) has joined the girls' team and attended her very first trial. She competed with a great joy and excitement and could not wait for her turn to perform. Not only she had a lot of fun, but also qualified and came third in Novice Jumpers with the time 20.67 covering 4.64 yards per second. A nice start for the future career!
November 21-22, 2009 . CKC sanctionned Agility trial in Edmonton, AB.
This trial only Tanto and Romi were entered into, and both of them came up with good results. Tanto la Cantara qualified twice and came first both times in Novice B Standard with the times 39.13/64 and 43.37/67 earning herself a Novice B Standard title. Romi also qualified twice and came second and third in Intermediate JWW (Jumpers with Weaves) class with the times 31.63/41 and 34.04/35. Ulla was really upset for not being entered, but she has to wait till expected in January 2010 regulation adjustments.

June 13-14, 2009, Alberta.     The Regional Agility Championships this year were hosted by Flashing Canines club in Leithbridge, a Southern Alberta - city famous for its every-day-of -the year windy weather. The only difference between the seasons here is in the temperature of the fast moving air: it is burning hot or burning cold (and forget about all the cooling, refreshing and soothing light breezes some people do enjoy).     We, actualy, were even lucky in terms of the wind as both days it was not that strong; at least equipment stayed in its places; but the temperatures went well above +30 and it was quite muggy. Never a perfect weather for a competition.     Neverleless. Ulla ( Kalinka's Lora de Verdun) did even better than last year. She accumulated 417.33 points (which is about 50 extra points compairing to the results of 2008) and finished 8th , placing herself on the  Top Ten list  and earning another ticket to the Nationals.
